چکیده

Abstract Dynamic boundary conditions (DBC) for solid surfaces are standard in the weakly compressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) code DualSPHysics. A stationary is simply represented by fixed particles with pressure from equation of state. Boundaries easy to set up and computations relatively stable efficient, providing robust numerical simulation complex geometries. However, a small unphysical gap between fluid boundaries can form, decreasing accuracy pressures measured on boundary. method presented where density obtained ghost positions within domain linear extrapolation. With this approach, reduced still water converge hydrostatic, including case bed sharp corner. The violent free-surface cases sloshing tank dam break impact an obstacle show directly close agreement experiments. 3-D flow fish pass, baffles divert flow, simulated showing levels weirs open gates closed, but less closed. This indicates suitable rapidly varying flows, development turbulent flows necessary. modified dynamic condition (mDBC) available DualSPHysics run CPUs or GPUs.

Investigation on the sloshing effect in a 2D tank under harmonic excitation using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and Finite Volume method (FVM)

Abstract Sloshing describes liquids motion in the semi-filled tanks, and exerts dynamic loading on its walls. This effect is of great importance in a number of dynamic systems e.g. aerospace vehicles, road tankers, liquefied natural gas carriers, elevated water towers and petroleum cylindrical tanks. Pressures insert impacts which are important for structural strength evaluation and its co...

Simulation of Cold Rolling Process Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH)

Regarding the reported capabilities and the simplifications of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method, as a mesh-free technique in numerical simulations of the deformation processes, a 2-D approach on cold rolling process was provided. Using and examining SPH on rolling process not only caused some minor developments on SPH techniques but revealed some physical realities. The chosen t...

Improvement in the Boundary Conditions of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics

s: In this paper, we propose an improvement in boundary condition computation of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics. Generally, to calculate a wall boundary in particle methods, a wall is converted into particle representation and used as static particles. However, it has several issues, e.g., a boundary is discretized into particles and thus does not result in accurate representation of the bound...

Modified smoothed particle hydrodynamics method and its application to transient problems

A modification to the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method is proposed that improves the accuracy of the approximation especially at points near the boundary of the domain. The modified method is used to study one-dimensional wave propagation and twodimensional transient heat conduction problems.
